The shopping center is located less than 5km from city center, on Avenida Diagonal, the main access road to Barcelona, in a modern residential area where most of the city’s growth is taking place. The surrounding area has experienced extensive development over the last decade, making it the well-established residential and commercial district that it is today.  Forum
On the Forum grounds located next to Diagonal Mar, there are two large constructions: the Fórum Building by Swiss architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron and Barcelona’s International Convention Center (BICC). Barcelona’s large-scale conferences and exhibitions are held at these sites. The BICC, inaugurated in 2004, has hosted 312 events, with 390,000 attendees and 2,200 commercial customers. A huge 16-hectare plaza -- the second largest of its kind in the world -- extends out from the buildings. The main activities of the 2004 Universal Forum of Cultures were held here. |
